About Ecological Bag / Geotextile Bag
Ecological bags are stacked in staggered courses and fixed with connection clips to form a flexible retaining/protective face. The bags hold a growing medium; as vegetation establishes, roots penetrate the fabric and bind the slope, so protective capacity increases with time.
Quantities must be calculated from the filled (formed) dimensions, not the empty bag size: formed length ≈ bag length −120–150 mm, width ≈ 0.7 × bag width, height ≈ 0.4 × bag height.

How many bags per square metre?
Calculate from formed dimensions. For an 810×430 mm bag (formed ≈650×300×150 mm) a single full course is roughly 20–25 bags/m²; multiply by the number of staggered courses and add 3–5% waste.
Bag or cement mat for slopes?
Bags for low-flow, vegetation and landscape requirements; cement mat for higher flow and fast hard facing. Projects often combine both: hard protection at the toe, vegetated bags on the face.
