Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Lining

Composite liner system per GB 16889-2024: groundwater drainage layer, GCL or compacted clay auxiliary barrier, HDPE primary membrane (smooth on base, textured on slopes, ≥1.5 mm), leachate drainage layer and protection geotextile.

Rigid Landfill Internal Lining

Reinforced-concrete cell lined internally with HDPE membrane. Critical controls are concrete surface preparation, vertical fixing with slack, and sealing at pipes and construction joints.

Tailings Impoundment Lining

Composite liner with chemical-resistant selection based on tailings-water analysis: HDPE base and textured dam slopes (1.5–2.5 mm), GCL auxiliary barrier, drainage layers and polypropylene filters in alkaline media.

Covered Biogas Digester (Black Membrane)

HDPE black membrane for base and gas cover (1.0–1.5 mm). Black absorbs heat to raise fermentation temperature; full weld gas-tightness testing and pressure-relief safety fittings are mandatory.

Reservoir & Storage Pond Lining

Two-cloth-one-membrane composite (e.g. 300g/0.75mm) or membrane with geotextile layers for basin and slopes, with anchorage, ballast and special treatment of the water-level fluctuation zone.

GCL bentonite liner (ecological, self-healing, supports planting) or composite membrane where higher retention is required, with cover soil and ecological bank detailing.

Chemically resistant HDPE 1.5–2.0 mm for ponds and tanks, with rounded base/wall transitions, pre-installed pipe sleeves, and full weld plus flood testing.

Tank Farm & Secondary Containment

Oil-resistant HDPE 1.5–2.5 mm under tanks and within bunds, with leak-detection layer on high-risk bases and a concrete wearing surface.

Hydraulic Slope Protection

Graded protection by flow velocity: cement mat or rigid units at the toe and high-flow zones, ecological bags with geocell and geotextile filter on the face, with a complete drainage system first.

Ecological Restoration & Revegetation

Soil amendment, terracing, drainage-first sequencing, then ecological bags, geocell and geotextile to stabilise slopes and establish vegetation, with irrigation and a defined maintenance period.

Alkaline leachate (pH often >9) requires alkali-resistant selection: HDPE liner with PP filtration, sub-liner groundwater drainage and monitoring wells, plus staged ash placement protection.
